A Tribute to Bruce Morton Wright written by Dan Dalpra |
|
God uses good people to do great things |
|
To all the Friends of the Bemus Bay Pops,
Our beloved friend and Conductor Bruce Morton
Wright recently passed away. We are all saddened
by the loss of a wonderful friend and founding
conductor of the Bemus Bay Pops program.
Bruce and I met 13 years ago when he agreed to
join me in the dream of “ Bringing The Art’s To The
People” and we have become life long friends. He
was a man so committed to Family, community and
his music. We shared an unspoken bond of
friendship, love and trust for each other over the
years. Bruce made everyone he worked with bigger.
It was always about you, It was never about him. He
told me its not the size of the statue that you are
remembered by but rather the number of lives you
touch in a lifetime that really matters. I always
admired Bruce’s love and dedication to his family
and his commitment to his community.

Here is a favorite poem of mine that speaks volumes
of Bruce’s philosophy on life:
Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love, time is eternity.
Hours fly, flowers die,
New days, new ways pass by,
Love stays.

Bruce I marvel at your will, I celebrate your strength to endure, I will be forever grateful Bruce
for your courage, conviction and trusted friendship my brother. Your goodness will live on
forever in all of us who you have touched.
The Bemus Bay Pops has become a world class
program because of your commitment and
dedication
to making it a great program for generations to enjoy.
Bruce Morton Wright’s life will live on in all of us,
who's lives he has touched. |
