- At the age of 20, Dalpra was appointed Vice President at Hanes + Company, a direct
mail marketing company in Canton, Ohio. There he produced marketing campaigns
for more than a decade.
- In 1982, he purchased a small, 45-seat, run-down diner on Chautauqua Lake in
Western New York. Through his innovative vision, he established the Italian
Fisherman, a 600-seat seasonal restaurant that provides unique culinary cuisine
and live musical entertainment.
- In 1998, Dalpra made headlines when he produced a free, open-air, 36-piece
symphony orchestra pops concert on the rooftop of the Italian Fisherman. More
than 2,000 people attended.
- This concert was the foundation for the creation of the Bemus Bay Pops, a non-profit
organization that serves as the focal point for a seasonal concert series and arts
program provided free to the public through community support and private
donations.
- In 2003, Dalpra took the dream from the rooftop of the restaurant and designed an
incredible floating stage that would better accommodate the growing interest.
Today more than 20,000 people flock to each concert.
- Today Dalpra presents more than 50 programs per season, ranging from a musical
“Concert Series,” “Lake Night at the Movies” (viewed by land or sea on the big
screen), regional theater performances, speakers, “Praise on the Lake” religious
services, fundraising events, “Smooth Jazz” at sunset, weddings, and much more.
